A 1964 Impala SS with 8 cylinders under the hood and 3 pedals in the foot well: what more could you ask for? This Impala was originally put together in Atlanta in 1964. It was sold new at Tropical Chevrolet in Miami, Florida. The vehicle has remained in the south its entire life until coming up to our showroom this year. The odometer reads only 51k miles. In 2008 this true SS Impala underwent a frame-off restoration, at which time the frame was powder coated. The metal on this Impala is in excellent condition. Being a southern car, there is not rust anywhere. The beautiful Azure Aqua Metallic paint (code 918) really pops and is in excellent shape without burns or fading. In combination with the stunning paint, the chrome trim really pops. Inside, the vehicle is upholstered in white vinyl. The optioned bucket seats and console are in good condition without cracking, tears or fading.
Under the hood lies the original 283ci V8 engine. The engine runs very strong and has been well maintained. It is clean and dry underneath. The previous owner had the heater removed to give the 283 a boost on power. A Holley 2 barrel carburetor makes sure the engine gets fuel and air. The engine is mated to a 3 speed manual transmission shifted from the column. This Impala would make an excellent cruiser: it has plenty of power, looks great and is very comfortable to drive. The only thinking this classic needs is a new owner to turn the key
