This 1996 Chevrolet 2500 HD is an extended-cab, rear-wheel drive pickup that was sold new by Bud Clay Chevrolet in Longview, Washington and remained with its original owner until 2018, when it was reportedly acquired by a neighbor. The truck is finished in red over gray cloth and powered by a 5.7-liter Vortec V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include the Convenience and Bright Appearance packages in addition to a matching canopy and rubber bed liner.
The truck is finished in Victory Red and equipped with the optional Bright Appearance Package, which includes chrome bumpers and side molding trim as well as Rally wheels. The truck has also been fitted with a body-colored bed cap and rubber mats over the cargo floor and inner tailgate. Eight-lug steel wheels feature chrome trim rings and hubcaps, and were mounted with 245/75 Mastercraft Courser HTX tires in 2017. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums with a four-wheel anti-lock system, and the truck is equipped with independent front suspension.
The cab is upholstered in gray cloth with matching plastics and vinyl floor coverings, and features a split reclining front seat as well as a folding bench and pop-out windows in the rear section. The optional Convenience Package included air conditioning, a Comfortilt steering column, and a cassette stereo. A four-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and four auxiliary gauges. Approximately 14k miles are shown on the six-digit odometer.
The 5.7-liter Vortec V8 was factory rated at 245 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. The four-speed automatic transmission is equipped with an external cooler and routes power to the rear wheels via a 4.10:1 differential. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
