This Cobra kit car was assembled and owned for most of its life by Ford Motor Company. The original Ford Motor Company tag is still attached to the keys. After being owned by FMC, this Superformance Cobra was purchased by Chuck Watson himself. There is not another Cobra kit car in the world with such a pedigree. It also looks great in the classic blue paint with silver stripes. The interior is in impeccable condition. The leather seats and dash are without blemishes or cracks.
In 2004, Ford Performance built this vehicle as a way to test its new stroker 347 V-8. The build quality is immediately apparent. The engineers at Ford Performance went the extra mile in every category. All of the wiring on this engine has been correctly loomed, the engine bay is full of AN fittings and stainless steel braided lines, and the underbody has fresh zinc hardware everywhere. These are the small elements that set this build apart as the highest quality. It is clear that Ford did not limit the budget on this build. The stroker 347 V8 under the hood is sporting Dynatek fuel-injected independent throttle bodies, basically every Ford performance part available, and is cooled by a large, dual core radiator. This powerhouse of an engine is linked up to a Tremec T5 transmission. But Carol Shelby was not interested in power alone; his designs prioritize handling as well as horsepower. He would be proud of what the Ford engineers achieved with this Superformance Cobra. Its stellar handling is in part due to tubular upper and lower control arms in the front and rear. The cobra has been fitted with Bilstein shocks and H&R coil springs, and handles great through the corners. Wilwood four piston calipers and rotors are on all four corners. All around this is a fun, exciting sports car with a heritage unmatched by any other Cobra kit car. The only thing this vehicle needs is a new owner to turn the key.
